Mud Gas Separator (poor-boy degasser) separates large volumes of free gas from drilling mud during well control events. Atmospheric vessel with baffle system for gas breakout.
Design
Vertical cylindrical vessel, atmospheric pressure. Internal cascading baffle plates. Tangential inlet. Gas vent line 200–300mm diameter to flare. Liquid seal at bottom outlet.
